The Best Teams on Fifa 13!
Posted on September 12, 2012 by Joe Plewes
This week on Oddslife we have a PS Vita to give away, a perfect prize with Fifa 13 little more than two weeks from release! The last iteration was the fastest selling sports game ever, smashing a huge selection of other sales records, and the early signs suggest this one will be even bigger.
With the demo out this week, we’re going to look at which teams you should be using outside of the obvious ones! Not Real Madrid, Barcelona, or even PSG, but some different choices.
You might think Inter are a totally obvious choice, but with the Italian giants likely to be downgraded to a four and a half star team they become a viable option. Rodrigo Palacio netted 21 times last season and will be a potent forward on this game, while the finishing of Diego Milito and playmaking of Wesley Sneijder and Antonio Cassano need little introduction. The loss of Maicon affects their defensive capability, but Álvaro Pereira adds pace to their backline while Samir Handanović is not a bad replacement in goal!
The top Dutch sides aren’t always the most fancied sides on Fifa, but perhaps that will change this year. SC Heerenveen were unbelievable last time around thanks to their front three of Luciano Narsingh, Bas Dost and Oussama Assaidi, and the former of the three has made his way 130 miles south to play in Eindhoven. The return of Mark van Bommel also adds steel to PSV’s midfield, and with Narsingh and the prolific Dries Mertens on the wings you can trouble most fullbacks! Wijnaldum and Lens also add to their attacking potency and had decent skill attributes on the last one, too. Could be a very good 4 star team.
If you hated playing against Welliton on the last game, then look away now! Strike partner Emmanuel Emenike is likely to be one of the quickest players on the game, so their front two could be extremely difficult to stop, while Aiden McGeady and former Everton winger Diniyar Bilyaletdinov have plenty of ability to supply ammunition.
Having been promoted from Serie B last season Torino are a very different option, and they should be pretty secure at the back with powerful centre half Angelo Ogbonna and Jean-Francois Gillet making them very hard to beat! Former Manchester City striker Rolando Bianchi has been prolific since he moved there in 2008 and is sure to dominate aerially, too, so their lower star rating might make them a good choice.
Zenit St. Petersburg
Zenit topped the Russian Premier League last season and lead the field once again after a handful of fixtures. Yet more exciting in Fifa terms is the lavish spending sanctioned by gas giants Gazprom at the end of August, in which they added Fifa favourite Hulk as well as highly rated Belgian international Axel Witsel. Zenit spent around £64 million to bring the two from Porto and Benfica respectively, and as Danny is always highly rated on the Fifa database they have brilliantly dangerous options going forward to tackle the top sides.
